User Experience Certificate

If you want to pursue advanced study but can’t commit to a full graduate degree program, a certificate offers an ideal solution. User Experience Boot Camp

Created for software and hardware designers, web architects, and information designers, this program is the only one of its kind in the United States. user-centered design methods. Participants are immersed in the user-centered experience during a full week of interactive discussions, expert panels, and hands-on workshops at Bentley’s state-of-the art Bentley User Experience Center. Learn more.

Customized Training

Bentley also offers customized educational opportunities at your work site, at Bentley, or by video conferencing. Faculty may present standard or customized instruction to suit specific corporate and organizational needs. Workshops typically range in length from one day to one week. A group minimum of 10 is required for customized offerings. Sample topics include: Introduction to HCI and the User-Centered Design Lifecycle, Human Factors and User Experience Design, User Requirements and Task Analysis, Customized Usability Boot Camp, User Requirements Gathering, Intro to Rapid Prototyping and UI Design, Internationalization, Usability Inspections, and Usability Testing.

Abstract

It has always been difficult to collaborate effectively with distant colleagues, but can we now overcome these difficulties with new technology? In five studies carried out over a year, we studied remote collaboration within Google. Come hear why audio conference calls have completely disappeared and how “video portals” have emerged spontaneously. Distance still matters, but much less than it used to. I’ll explain what currently works well, the conditions that promote effective collaboration, whether travel is still required, and what problems remain.

Jeff LeBlanc of Integrated Computer Solutions discusses Hollywood influences on Natural User Interfaces

Abstract

Traditional methods of interacting with a desktop computer are the mouse and keyboard, while other techniques such as voice recognition and free-form gestures have been in the realm of science fiction movies like “”Minority Report”” and “”Iron Man””. Advances in input technologies in recent years have made these input modalities not only possible but commercially viable, allowing for creation of a more Natural User Interface (NUI). This presentation will cover techniques for integrating voice, gestures, and facial recognition into a single desktop application. Several available technologies will be discussed and a case study provided of a successful implementation.
